  • December Mood Board

I LOVE DECEMBER!! I love it because it always go out with a bang! What I mean is, there is so much to celebrate. Lets see, there is St. Nicholas Eve on Dec 6th, Hanukkah on Dec 14th, Winter Solstice on Dec. 21, Christmas on Dec 25, Kawanzaa on Dec 26 and then the big finale on Dec. 31st with New Years Eve. Who couldn't love December!!!!

In this month's Mood Board, I have shown bits and pieces of some of these celebrations. I want you to pick out three things that catch your eye and use them in a layout. Now the layout does not have to be about these celebrations. Your layout can be about anything you want, but please list what three things or colors you used.

Of course its always nice to learn about all these celebrations, so here is some reading material for you all. HAVE FUN!!!

St. Nicholas Eve. ( my kids LOVED this holiday!)

So to all my brothers and sisters out there, no matter your race, religion, beliefs, customs, etc-----we come together in this last fabulous month of the year to celebrate----UNITY, PEACE and LOVE!!!!

It’s even better than that, Nancy! Kwanzaa starts on Dec 26 but lasts for a week. Hanukkah (or Chanukah) lasts for eight days, with a different start date each year because it’s determined by a lunar calendar rather than a solar one; this year the first night begins at sunset on Dec 12.

Thank you. (In my neck of the woods, Shabbat began before 4 o’clock local time, or more than four hours before you posted!)

          Wonderful Challenge, Nancy!!
As a Dutchie I could not ignore St Nicholas...
We don't celebrate it any more now, because my kids are already too big, but OMG the candy is awesome....

Oh, please, don't get me started on that subject, Alfred! Dutch people can be so stubborn when it comes to old traditions. It is clear that zwarte piet needs to change or disappear because he offends a lot of people (and the whole world can see it, except the Dutch). It makes me ashamed to say the least.
Discussions in our society are getting out of hand right now, with protests and counter protests, vandalism and people making racist remarks (I can't even get out of my mouth). All over a celebration that should concern the children...
I just stick to my candy...

So many great ideas. I chose the blue palette, stars, trees, winter scenes and a sentiment, to boost. Thanks for hosting a great challenge. This FB cover is in honor of one DIL's birthday.
