  • Filter Challenge: INVERT

    OK, so are you all ready for another filter challenge? I was so thrilled at what you all did with the LIQUIFY filter; I can't wait to see what you do with this one!!

    For this filter, we go to the ADJUSTMENTS filters. In PSE, there are six filters under the Adjustment filters. We will be playing with the INVERT filter. I love this filter because it makes whatever you invert look like a negative of your original. In my sample, I inverted the background paper that I turned on an angle. Then after using the INVERT filter on it, I changed the hue to get the color you see. Then I inverted my photo. I love the black daisies against my bright yellow daisy. I also changed my orange paper to yellow just to pick up on the yellow daisy.

    For those of you with other programs; use whatever you have to make a negative out of whatever you want to change. Just play around and make it your own!!! Can't wait to see what you all do!! HAVE FUN!!

    My original layout::

    And here is the same layout using the INVERT filter:

    I don't have PSE so I played around with the filters in Craft Artist until I came up with an image that is similar to a negative. I hope this is okay Nancy.

    As per my comment on Diane's earlier post to this thread, I've applied the 'Difference' blend mode to selected shapes to achieve inversion of the underlying objects.

    http://gallery.justartscrapbooking.c...81-invert.html‚Äč Thank you for the challellenge Nancy I'm not sure if this is right I followed your instructions in PS which is a new programme for me and I'm still learning from it, then I took the Background paper and embellishments into CA using the colouriser and the blend modes.

    Thanks so much for this challenge Nancy. I had taken some photos of Paris yesterday in the negart mode on my old camera but was clueless as to what to do with them. And voila! Saw this challenge was right up my alley. I used the solarize mode in CraftArtist to change her back to white. Had fun with the embellishments too.
