Robyn, in order to leave a comment on the Eye Catchers one must leave name and email. Is this public or just so that you know it's not a bot? I'm not keen on leaving my email to be seen. Is it my actual name or my web name Kythe?

Email addresses can NOT be seen by the public - (take a look at the comments on my personal blog post). I have access to whatever email address that you chose to use when you registered for this forum/site, and I'm guessing that is pretty much standard for sites world wide. The WordPress part of this site is entirely separate to that.

You do NOT have to log in to make a comment. I really only put that at the bottom of the page for my own benefit. If you do choose to log in (with a Word Press account - not sure if you have a choice to log in with a Google account) your comment will show up as contributor or subscriber rather than a guest.

Putting in your email address is no longer a compulsory thing. I have disabled it. Both website and email boxes will still show up, but you don't have to use them, it's optional.

You can use whatever name you want to make a comment, but if you don't use your forum name, I won't have a clue who is commenting. You don't have to leave comments, but it's nice to get some feedback occasionally.

I never use my personal email to register at any shops, sites, etc. I have a separate gmail address for that.

Remember I PM'd you a few days ago maybe more....asking if it is possible to have the view count (shown on the right hand side of the page with the links and other bits) ... added to the thumbnail in the gallery so we see it with the comments & like count the page has received - some people visit the page because they found it interesting enough to click on it & take a closer look but not confident to leave a comment or emoji..
Maybe some might find the 'View' count comforting to know they have been noticed then encouraged to continue scrapping or use their chosen design/kit to prefect their talent....just a thought xxx : o)

If this is not possible then maybe I have highlighted it to others that's it's not all bout comment's and like's but the attention your page gets xxx : o)

Is there a search option for the amount of views a page gets? You like to fiddle so a challenge for you xxx ; o)

Sorry Debbie. I've got so much going on at the moment, but yes, I do remember now. The views option as you describe is not available in this version of the XenForo gallery program.

What is available, is a ratings option where you can leave up to 5 stars. I can enable this option if members like it and think it would be a good thing. I always try to be guided by what the majority of members would like.

Lilypad gallery is showing the number of views, but they are running the original XenForo gallery and haven't updated (either their forum or gallery) to the newer versions.

I would be interested to hear members' comments on RATINGS and VIEWS.

I thought you could perhaps just leave the stars, but you have to leave a comment as well - so no giving somebody just one star anonymously, but I'm sure no one here would do that anyway. You can leave just an emoji in the comment box, as long as there is something in there.

I'll leave it on for now and see what you all think. Of course just because this option is available, you don't have to use it.......just continue on as usual.

Robyn, I personally do not want Ratings. Is the Ratings based on the number of views and comments?

The View Count can be seen in Media Information on the gallery page but I am not interested in the number of views.

I looked at a few digi-scrap galleries and the Rating is not enabled.

There may be members who want the rating option and to see the number of views on the gallery thumbnail.

Thanks Grace. I value your opinion. The rating is given by the person making the comment. The actual rating you can see in the Media information is an average of all the ratings (not comments) given for that image.

You can see where I have left test comments under your image. Robyn has left you 5 stars, but Admin Test has only left you 1 star.

It is the only option to have the number of views displayed as it is now.......in the Media information on the side bar.
