CHALLENGES Multiple Frames Using One Image Challenge

Over the coming months I plan to reintroduce some old challenges. They haven't been done for quite a while, so I'm hoping you will enjoy them all over again.

For this month it's a technique challenge using multiple frames with just one image. At the time I wrote a tutorial which, if you haven't already got it, you can download HERE.

The zip includes a Word document and the same thing as a PDF. Unfortunately it is written only for Photoshop. You will note in the tutorial there is a link to the Studio for a different way of doing this. That link no longer works. This tutorial is basically how to save your chosen photo/picture as a pattern. It's just one technique you can use, and there are other ways of producing the same result.

Below are some of the images that I have included in the tutorial document.

Please upload your image to the gallery and make sure you check/tick Monthly Challenges and Miscellaneous Challenges.

Come back to this thread and show me your page/s so I don't miss them. I hope you enjoy this 'oldie but goodie' challenge.

EDIT..... I found this tutorial by Anna Aspnes, but it involves a lot of clipping masks etc. and IMO not nearly as versatile or as much fun to use. Also, my browser is showing this not a secure site.

Interesting ways of creating a unique layout. I will have to make time to try this. Thanks for sharing.

Amazing tutorial Robyn, I followed most of it, but in my Photoshop I had to select instead of using a shape in order to use the pattern, it didn't give me the choice as you say, but the pattern saving is brilliant.

@Robyn I have a list of pages to scraplift and one with this technique was on my list for July. Your tutorial explains how to do it, so that will make it easier for me to create a page! I'll choose another one for the scraplift. I have a lot going on the first few weeks of the month getting ready for a family gathering in Tennessee and there are a LOT of challenges already posted. I'll add a scraplift one later in the month!

Thanks for the tut and challenge. I had to improvise as my software doesn't have the pattern overlay function however I did the next best thing still using the pattern idea. I used an inner shadow and bevel to get the semblance of a honeycomb.

What version PS are you using? I just tested using the shape tool with the latest version of PS CC and it worked okay.

Thank you Robyn for the challenge and tutorial. I spent way too much time on this way, I could still spend more, but had to make a decision to call it a day sometime. The photo is Pixabay – then I blended some papers from Land of Amber Lights – Rosie into the original photo – one overlay – my stash.
