News about Mary (Poppy)

I have just been talking to Mary and she is in hospital with a bad infection following her surgery. They have her on an antibiotic drip but she is very poorly. To make matters worse she has been stuck on a trolley bed in the Emergency Room for two days now because the wards are full. Please keep her in your thoughts and I will try and keep you informed of any updates xxxxxx

Rosie, thank you for letting us know about Mary. I was concerned that Mary was not doing well because she has not been here the last couple of days. I will keep Mary in my thoughts and sending her positive and caring hugs.

I realize that Covid has a lot to do with the wards being full, but I am still so angry I could spit ! Perhaps if she had had better after care in the first place,it wouldn't have gone this far...
Still I am sending good wishes and all the good vibes I have left her way....

They converted 7 huge exhibition centres across the UK - ‘Nightingale’ hospitals, to cope with COVID and they are all standing empty ......they tell us to continue to go to hospitals for all things other than COVID and Mary is a prime example of what happens......so infuriating and I don’t blame the NHS - their hands are tied, I blame the Government 😡

I have some good news about Mary. She had a better night last night and the doctor has now sent her home with oral antibiotics. He says, and I agree, that she will recover much quicker at home. Also, with the risk of COVID she will be safer. It turns out that she had gastroenteritis because the hospital failed to give her any antibiotics after the surgery (which they should have done of course). She is really tired but sounding a lot more positive xxxx
