Quick tip about searching for a gallery

I'm sure you have been in the forum and a member has posted an unlinked image. Can't be fussed going to the gallery and searching for that page?

Simple solution! Just hover on that member's avatar or name and among other bits of information you will see Gallery. Click on the number under GALLERY and you will be taken straight to that member's gallery. Depending on your browser, I right click and use the 'open link in new tab' and that way your original forum page remains open.

If you click on the number under MESSAGES you will see that member's forum posts and gallery comments. The gallery comments link is not active because I have chosen to have these combined with forum posts after members asked why their comment count was lower than they expected (the default in the software is that only forum posts show).

Helpful?

I tend to take things for granted and just assume that everyone knows these little tricks. It wasn't until I was PMing with Anne-Marie this morning that I realised that most members probably do not know this. As well as hovering you can also click on the avatar or name and get a larger more comprehensive screen with more options rather than the pop up screen.

It is good to know and as you say, it’s so handy when pages aren’t linked back to the gallery. Thanks Robyn x

Another good thing about this quick look at a member's statistics ......... you can see at a glance if numerous pages have been uploaded, but no comments left. Even though the leaving of comments is no longer a requirement for gallery participation, I still feel that it is part of the Just Art culture that we have built up over the past years. It is an expectation if you like!
