Tea and Sympathy - 2023

This thread is set up as a result of what Vivi (nemla) suggested. This is what she said........

Also , and this is just a suggestion, and please everyone don't get the wrong idea, (I want to know , who is not feeling well too, and I care about people here) but there is an awful lot of sickness and ailments, usually mentioned in the "what shall we talk about " thread.
Could we perhaps have a "Tea and Sympathy " thread as well ? Then anyone who is not feeling to good, or who is looking after someone who is sick, frail or old, and need some kind words along the way, or is going to be absent, have a place to post that, without using the "what shall we talk about" thread for that.

So if you are not feeling well or needing support for something that is going on in your life, this thread is the place for you to get some 'tea and sympathy' and some cyber love!

Wonderful and supportive thread!

I´ll be in hospital from Jan.11 th for 2 - 3 nights because I suffer
from a Sleep Apnea. When it was first diagnosed years back I did
not think much about it.
Though I sent my papers to a nearby hospital twice I never got
invited/received only unfriendly answers to my Calls. I´m not
surprised it was closed.
As my fatique worsened more and more my Doctor pushed me to
have another Go or I might have a heart attack or stroke anytime
soon. I found a sleep laboratory to run more tests. As far I know I
stop breathing 30 times in a minute .....
Thanksgod I can leave during the day and care for my Cats.
I must be back at 9 o´clock at night !

I hope you can find a solution to your sleep apnea Helga. Apart from being dangerous, you must feel tired all the time.

Thank you, Robyn - Without my Cats and alarm clock I could easily sleep
10-12 hours at times. 17 hours was the most after working whole week.

Oh Helga ... do you have breathing help (cpap)? I will be waiting to hear the results and hope there is a solution! ♥
Helga, this is serious. I have two friends who use the CPAP when sleeping

Sleep apnea is no joke - I hope they get things figured out for you. My husband now wears a CPAP mask to bed at night and it has helped him tremendously. Wishing you good and fast restults and hoping that you get some relief.

Thank you, Cheryl - My neighbour also told me so. He can no longer sleep
without his mask and his wife is so happy he´s no longer snorring !
I am sure I´ll get used to it after a while. Hope my cats will come into my
bed anyway. Need them to calm me down ! 😼🙀

Helga - my friend's husband has a CPAP and it doesn't seem to deter the cats from sleeping with them.

My husband has sleep apnea. when he started using a CPAP machine every night he sleeps so much better and is much less tired. They take a bit of getting used to to use, but well worth it.

@Blackthorne , Stick with it,and don't give up if you find the mask difficult at first. My friend went down from 18 to 4 times an hour with it. She is still being monitored. Sleep clinics really help. And her dog is still snuggled up with her, so pets don't mind.
