Tea and Sympathy - 2023

from what I'm reading there's migraines which are different for every person and then different kinds of migraines ... of course there are. it couldn't be simple. Over medicated kind is what I'm thinking and taking even 3 Acetaminophen is not good - and it's said that they can get worse before they get better once you stop. Everyone, every doctor has a different opinion. This is not sounding good :(

Migraines can be terrible. I used to have them something awful. I had the good fortune to get to know some s/dentists and I had a lot of "old" fillings in my mouth - back when we didn't know that metal fillings weren't a good thing and I had a lot of them. I had dental surgery and had my "metal fillings" replaced with amalgam and that fixed my migraine problem I actually don't have them anymore. It's pretty radical dental surgery, but it was worth it to me. I'm older, so they didn't used to know that it wasn't a good thing to do. Ev @Ev and Karen @Kakleidesigns have you ever heard of "muscle testing"? That's how they discovered what my problem was.
No, I never did ! Is it one a homeopatic doc does ? :-13

Ev,do you take the meds for your headaches every few hours or just when you think they are really bad, some meds need to be taken regular like every few hours, not just when it is really bad...
Since I think it's over medication which brought these on, as of yesterday I'm taking nothing for the pain. Last month the dr. said about taking them to "get in front" of the pain - Hello, doc - how does one get in front of constant? Wake up withone and have it all day!

never heard of it, Cheryl. Today I am going to try homeopathic migraine med which dissolves under the tongue. No one carried it, wanted this brand cuz it's made in the US, liked the ingredients so my daughter ordered it Amazon Prime and she called about 1 hr. ago - it's there and she's bringing it over on her way home from grocery shopping! Finger crossed gals! ♥

Speaking of homeopathic, we went to the Farmer's Market this morning. We had the most fascinating conversation with a doctor there. She has a 2-year waiting list! I really think homoeopathy helps and I've used some products for years - of course, there are instances where we need "traditional medication" but I've always had good relief - good luck with the meds that you're getting today. :-eI also have a good friend who's a certified herbalist. She just completed 1600 hours of herbalist schooling and has her USA Society of Herbalism Certification. You might want to try this: 1 glass of water, 1/4th t. PINK Himalayan Salt (it comes in a grinder container) a pinch of baking soda and lemon juice to taste. My herbalist friend says this is for migraines. She gives it to her dd every day and mixes it with orange juice.

always believed the different approaches were good and I have an essential oil lady in TN with her little group, little shop and big list of customers... always have a bottle of lavender - well, more than 1 for pocketbook and home! Usually end up giving one away ... thanks Cheryl - if this doesn't work I'll try the pink salt. ♥

Are you feeling any better, Eve ? And did you find out what causes your migrainies ?
Or is it from all the stress of the past months/ year ?:-12

Many of us have had loads of stress the past couple of years, haven't we! I really do think it's from over medicating with acetaminophen and ibuprofen - I would grab 2 instead of taking pain pills for the spine stenosis and sinus - for years. Today there is no headache and wasn't one for most of yesterday. There's some kind of pain up there but not that gawd awful headache pain. LOL at me - got a homeopathic migraine relief and it sorta helped; then dr. & I had a phone appt. - he ordered a migraine rx ... of course I checked it out on line with reputable sources and followed their direction instead of my dr. It's not to prevent migraines, it's to deal with one when it has manifested itself; no more than 2 in 24 hrs. but you can take a 2nd one if the 1st doesn't stop the headache. Maybe it's working - I've also cut back on coffee! I really felt sorry for Dr. Booth - he said, I really don't know what else to do to treat this ... you probably should see a neurologist ... I had told him I wasn't going to another doctor! I talked him into feeling better, in fact, had him laughing :) ♥ He ordered blood test to check for any inflammation - got that done and we're having another phone appt tomorrow. This saga continues - I am really tired of the whole mess, I know our peeps here, and you, can relate to that.

Yes, we have some stress now and than as well, some more - some less.
But that´s no excuse. At least you have an idea what might cause you
problems. It is strange what you say about coffee. I heard people say it
helps to drink black coffee. But everyone is different !
When I have migraine my whole body aches esp. the stomach. So I need
peace & quiet and no light. Even the purring of my cat hurts.
Maybe you should really consider seeing a neurologist. They have more idea
about your problems than a general doctor.

@Ev and @Blackthorne I used to get heaps of headaches, migraine and clusters. After I went through change of life they stopped. I dont think I have had a migraine since. I do still get headaches, but much less severe and much less frequently. I believe those headaches of yesteryear were hormonal.

I sympathise with you Ev,I have only ever had one migrane it was like an Axe splitting my head in two,the doctor put it down to my very bad influenza,my legs were like jelly I had to have hubby help me getting out of bed and walking....since that spell I have been lucky and never had another one...
My friend suffers
and is always sick with her migranes, she goes to bed close the curtains and stays in the dark room till it eases.

I do feel for you Ev, been a long time since I had a migraine but know how debilitating they can be. I would just go lay down in darkened quiet room. Stress doesn't help so try to relax as much as you can :-f

Jody, I never thought of that but you might be right.
When I stopped working it become better till it completely dissapeared.
Sometimes I´ve a little pain in my foorehead but I think that is cause
of bad sleeping/because my hayfever feels like a flu. :-j

I hope you can get this sorted soon Ev. I'm no expert but I believe all the stress you've had in your life recently, could very well be the cause of it. I am fortunate that I very rarely suffer from headaches, but I do know how debilitating they can be. So my heart goes out to you.

I do believe we know our own bodies Ev and I think it’s wonderful that you tell the dr what you need 😂 I had a dr like that once and it was a successful relationship. Sadly he retired and now I’m training a new one 😱…. Glad you are feeling a little better ❤️
