Tea and Sympathy - 2023

Thinking of Helga - @Blackthorne - tonight is the 1st night for the sleep test if all tests were OK earlier today. Sure hope she gets outfitted with a decent CPAP.
Thank you, dear Eve. I was a little concerned if I was able to sleep there early
but I did.Though they woke me up at 5.30 a.m to remove all the cables etc. I
am not tired yet. Hope the second night will be as good. ;)

Today was a very emotional day for me and my family. We had the services for my husband. A ton of people came to give their respects for him, which we were very thankful for. My husband had so many friends, both military and civilian. We got to see lots of people that we haven't seen in a while, and we appreciated everyone coming to say their goodbyes to him. Now, I just have to try to get used to being on my own without him after being with him for over 40 years. It's going to be one of the hardest things I will ever have to do. JA6
I'm so very sorry for your loss Sherry. It's a difficult time ahead for you and I hope you find happiness and strength in the memories of your times together. He will always be with you. Practice self-care when you can. JA7

Helga, @Blackthorne , my hubby's had his cpap for about 8 yrs now. He was able to adjust rather quickly and never sleeps without it. It can disrupt MY sleep sometimes if it becomes mis-aligned, but it's a small price to pay knowing is is breathing regularly. He, too, used to stop breathing many times a night and I would count the seconds until he restarted...lol These sleep studies are so helpful. We have 2 cats too, and the sleep mask has never deterred them....best of luck!

I’m so sorry for your loss Sherry, yes it’s going to be tough. Life can be so cruel but you can do it just one day at a time ❤️

Thanks so much for your encouraging words, Beth. I am glad your husband
has adapted to this ccap so well but please take care of your own sleep too.

I am now back at home from the hospital. Unfortunately I could not get
any sleep the 2nd night. As a result of that I have slept 7 or 8 hours all-
together in 3 nights. It was not the nose mask which bothered me at
all. I was somehow too tense, worried how things would be in future.
When I got home after food shopping I soon fell into bed and slept till the
evening. So here I am again !

Hopefully they will get some sort of idea from the first night when you slept quite well. Don't stress. That won't help you at all. I am sure you aren't the first to have that happen, so they will be able to work with what they have, or maybe get you back to try again. Try to stay positive and try not to worry. ;)
